Champion Balrion Weathertop Nor'wester, CGC Founding Therapy Dog of Nor'wester Readers Owned and handled by Wendi Huttner
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
The goal of the Nor'wester Readers Canine Assisted Learning Program is to utilize registered therapy dog teams who will work cooperatively with public school teachers to support and build student motivation, enhance focus, and increase task persistence. The presence of our therapy dog teams will offer a stress free learning environment which will increase student self esteem and confidence.
"The patience exhibited by Sadie while my students read to her was outstanding! She allowed the children to pet her, lie on her, kiss her, and made them feel safe, secure, and valued. Her presence provided an encouraging, welcoming, and loving environment where disabilities became abilities. I am so grateful for the positive impact Sadie had upon my students, and I eagerly look forward to continuing the Nor'wester Readers program next year." (KJ, Richboro Elementary)
